Request for Resume Critique

Good afternoon everyone. I'm presently 32 and in school along w/ working a full time job. My goal is to land a position as a Help Desk rep moving up to Desktop Support and then to System Admin. I'm presently prepared to take my A+ in the next 45-60 days followed by the MS 7 exam a month later. Unfortunately, outside of helping family and friends plus some labbing, my professional experience is very limited. I've created a resume to the best of my ability and I would like some members on the board here to point out what I did both right and wrong. It is greatly appreciated.

Specific resume criticism aside I'm not exactly sure your experience up to this point really will get you into a help desk position. If its your goal, more power to you, but I think the way you'll get "in" might be media services positions. They're all over higher ed.

I was wondering this just last week. Guess I need to really consider this move now.

Yeah, my thoughts are that its a lot easier for you to leverage your experience with media services into a full time position than it is to leverage it into a help desk one.

For starters, I see at least one misspelling and a few grammer/sentence structure issues.

Misspelled: Excel (not Exel)
Grammer/Structure: Last line item in Video Product Manager and last line item in Online Banking Rep.

Under your Targeting Entry Level header, you say you are "Consistently recognized for technical troubleshooting skills used to rapidly and cost-effectively resolve issues." I am just curious how that relates to your experience. Where have you done this and how was it done? This sort of thing should be a notable achievement listed in your experience to make you stand out.

Also I would get rid of the 9X/NT/2000 listed on your resume.

Excellent points crrussell3. I've decided to focus on gaining certs and some type of experience and then pursue Help Desk before year end.
