To my knowledge, dte connects to the customer side and dce connects to the service providers side. If we have a few local routers shouldn't they all be DTE?

prolific Member Posts: 22 ■□□□□□□□□□Well DCE's provide clocking service. If you have 2 local routers and want them to connect them directly through a serial connection, then you would have to set the clock rate command on one of the routers' serial interface. So the one where you set the clock rate command will be the DCE and the other will be the DTE.There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't.
