Cisco 881w enough for 640-554 Cisco CCNA: Security?
LinuxRacr
Hello all,
I am beginning my CCNA Security studies and would like to know if my 881w would be enough to prepare for the IPS/ZBF parts of the exam (as I have ZBF working already on it, just not IPS). I have the Advanced IP services license on it, and I know that the CCP GUI works just fine with it.

Should be fine. I'm actually using GNS3 3725 advanced security image. CCP complains about the 3725 but doesn't stop me from using the GNS3 3725.

Same here... Using GNS3, but with 7200. CCP works perfectly

I have an 877 at the house with IPS/ZBF on it, so I assume your 881 could handle it also. Best way to know for sure is to check the feature navigator though.

The 877 is a nice router. I know for a fact my 881w has ZBF, because I'm already using it. Just haven't used the IPS feature yet. Maybe I should look into getting a decent license for my 1841?

I was able to pass the IINS 640-554 earlier this week with a score of 866. For CCNA Security exam, my 881W and 1841 routers in my lab, along with the CBT Nuggets videos, and Cisco Official Exam Guide were plenty to practice with ZBF, IPS, and CCP. I'll probably need more hardware (ASA) if I were to attempt the CCNP Security...
