Quick background......Have been in my current Network Engineer/Help Desk Mgr. role for the last 5 years, 3 years on help desk before that. Applied for an IT Admin position with a local County Clerk of Courts office. Job posting closed. Was notified I made the cut for an interview. Went for the interview with the Director of IT and Director of HR. Our personalities meshed great, and I knocked out all the HR and technical questions (AD, SQL, VMware, Crystal, Linux, Cisco, etc.) After the questions I had to take a Net + exam. Did pretty good on it, but I will say some of the subject matter will sneak up on you if you're not using it regularly. They told me they had one more interview the next day. HR lady wanted to forego the next interview and hire me then. IT Director said they had to do the final interview, regulations or something.
Fast forward 2 days later. They called and offered the job. I, of course, accepted the next day. I'm very excited at this point. Lots of responsibility, lots of potential. Will say, I get a bump to my pay, because of my
WGU degree

.
I would love any input(pointers, etc.) from anyone out there with gov't experience and/or Administrator experience.
Thanks in advance!!
