Has anyone had success studying for both the 640 and 642 simultaneously?

I'm trying to, finding the time is the biggest hurdle for me.IT guy since 12/00
Recent: 11/2019 - RHCSA (RHEL 7); 2/2019 - Updated VCP to 6.5 (just a few days before VMware discontinued the re-cert policy...)
Working on: RHCE/Ansible
Future: Probably continued Red Hat Immersion, Possibly VCAP Design, or maybe a completely different path. Depends on job demands... -

Separately yes, as a whole no. There are some overlapping topics and i've seen posts of people sitting both exams in the same day. It can be done, i think time would be the biggest obstacle.

Agree with Lexluethar. Sitting two exams in a very short space of time would be very demanding. Although the upgrade exams (648 or 649) require this type of study if you've been out of the certification loop for a while.
I successfully managed it with the Windows 7 MCITP:EDST track (did the 682 upgrade rather than 680 and 685 separately) but didn't feel confident for the server 2008 TS exams. Plus I learnt more doing the 640 and 642 separately.
