Passed! Got a 814/900!
Not the easiest exam, thats for sure. I wasn't surprised at my score at all. I actually thought of failing 20 questions in.
I had 7 simulations. They weren't that hard, but they were definitely time consuming and throws you off since its no a,b,c,d type deal. Some sims were similar to what others had posted but not exactly.
Some questions were also worded horrendously, but after a quick reread you can spot key words pointing you to the proper answer.
Process of elimination was key as well as being sure why the other answers could not possibly be correct. Ports and attacks were important as well as topics on redundancy.
Flagging questions to review later definitely came in handy.
Thanks Darril, your book was great! I will keep recommending it. Heck, it was even easier than Lammle's N+ book which I love.
On to ICND1!

Congrats on the pass.Security+ -

So, CCENT/CCNA is next? Are you going the 1 exam or 2 exam route?
I'd love to ask about the simulators, but I know that's against the rules.
There were no simulators when I took Sec+. -

I always hear great things about Wendell Odom and his Cisco books but I wasn't aware that the ICND1 book was so massive. Good luck with the ICND1 and ICND2 exams. -

I just passed the exam today with the same score 814... I had the exact experience as the OP. It definitely was not the easiest exam in the world. I used Darril's book and the Professor Messer videos, both of which were fantastic.
