Hi I have a Bachelors degree in Electronics & telecommunictaions Engineering and 1.5 yrs experience working as a customer support in telecom company. I am interested to pursue the CISA certification. Please suggest me if this would be right for me and if so how should i proceed.

Thanks,

As far as proceeding with taking the exam, it's quite straight-forward. The materials are available for sale at the ISACA web site. Most people simply purchase the Review Guide and the Q&A database.

Your background however doesn't sound like you would actually qualify to earn the CISA designation. There is a professional requirement to earn ISACA designations. But that doesn't mean that you shouldn't write the exam if you believe that you know the materials.

Is your interest in the CISA because you wish to be an IT auditor?

It all depends on your middle- and long-term career goals.
If you aim to jump into Audit, IT risk or operational risk management, security of any kind - CISA will be a way to go.
