in CCNA & CCENT
Hello all,
As alluded to in previous post of mine, I am looking to pursue Cisco certification and am looking for equipment to build a home lab. I am thinking of doing CCNA and moving on to CCNP (possibly doing CCNA Security in between there).
I've looked at some of the recommendations for labs including the CBT Micronugget (MicroNugget: Building a CCNP Home Lab - YouTube) and am looking at the following used routers to start my lab:
(2) 2651XMs with the following IOS: Cisco IOS Software, C2600 Software (C2600-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), Version 12.4(15)T14
(2) 2801s with the following IOS: Cisco IOS Software, 2801 Software (C2801-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(24)T2
I'll have to pick up the usual accessories like WICs and cables, but I am most concerned about choosing an appropriate IOS version and feature set. Would anyone be so kind as to comment on if these routers/IOS versions are appropriate for a home lab?
Thank you!
