Hello! and Help! Management to Analyst - Resume help.
Hello! I've been lurking on the forums for a couple years, love it, very informative and helpful!
Here's my story...
I've been an IT nerd since I was a kid, spent my 20's in various roles the Auto Industry. Coming up on 32 and stuck in a Management position for one of the big 3 auto retailers that I don't find quite as fulfilling as the time I spend with my lab when
I'm not working. I also handle all the low level IT work in my department. Well a spot has opened up at our SSC for a Security Analyst and after spending the morning with one of our Field Techs working on hardware installs and then 8 of my 10 working hours on the phone with our Help Desk for printer driver installs (admin rights and what not) and various problems with our Dealer Management Software, and walking one of our Help Desk guys through his job, (twice), last week, I've come to the conclusion that I'm fully qualified for the position and am going to apply for it. It's basic entry level security stuff, account creation/deletion, file permissions, password resets, active directory, well you guys/gals know what I'm talking about.
Anywho, my problem is how do I turn my Management resume into an Analyst resume? I don't have any certs yet, I'm self-studying for a handful right now, ya know the usual entry stuff. I do have a small virtual lab at home for studying. Since it's an internal transfer, I'm not sure what I should take off and what I should add. As stated above, I handle all the low level IT work in my department, password resets, hardware swaps and setups, software installs and configurations, I get to sit on the phone with the Help Desk whenever a problem I can't fix pops up and staff training on all of our systems. How do I work that into my resume without raising eyebrows with our IT team? Or should I even bother?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, It won't let me attach my resume... format not supported. It's a .txt file, do I have to have a certain number of posts before I can upload it or is .txt really not supported?
