MPLS question
loxleynew
I just started a new job and I don't have *that much* experience with MPLS setup. So we have 5 sites all connected through MPLS but when at site #1 I can only see site #1 routers and switches. Traffic for computers flows right so it seems they setup the routes fine but shouldn't I be able to telnet to say all of my routers/switches from a single site/computer?
The external routes for instance all point to the MPLS, but inside our core switch at the main site if I ping another router at site#2 it times out. Is this normal? If so how do you all monitor your entire network?
Thanks!

Depends on how the routing is set up. Is routing for all subnets used for internal routing infrastructure propagated through the MPLS or just the user subnets? Do you control your own route propagation through a routing protocol?

There lies in the answer I'm sure. From what I can tell there are no routing protocols setup just static routes that all point to the MPLS. 172.21.102.x is the MPLS
S* 0.0.0.0/0 [1/0] via 10.0.2.1
10.0.0.0/8 is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks
C 10.0.2.0/24 is directly connected, GigabitEthernet0/1
L 10.0.2.2/32 is directly connected, GigabitEthernet0/1

looks like all static to me. not a single routing protocol id anywhere.
