Is it really worth while to make a linkedin account if i'm not going to have any "connections"? Just curious, thanks in advance.

Agreed, worth it. I started with no connections, and just through me applying for jobs, those people connected with me and are helping me find a job!

Yes, Linkedin is absolutely one helpful site especially for those who would want to connect to different types of groups.

Linkedin is great for your career. If you are not looking into having much of a career then no need for linkedin. All professional workers network.

Absolutely! A lot of the point behind LinkedIn is making new connections which it sounds like you could greatly benefit from.

Idk.. I have a linkedin that I go on and manage frequently enough. So far it hasn't seemed to have helped me much.

    Maybe I'm using it wrong?

I'm 'contrarian' here. I dislike linkedin, too much overhead, too much waste of precious time.

I guess at some point it will experience what they refer to as "Facebook Fatigue" because people just get tired of keeping up with so much.

I haven't had much luck with LinkedIn either. I think the higher you go the more it helps. Plus, it is nice to have the words of previous co-workers on there if you can get them. Also, make sure you are not set to "Not Looking" for jobs. I changed mine to whatever the employed but interested option and got a few hits the following week.

Where do you go to set the "employed but looking" option?
