Hello everybody!
I've been reading through the forums here for years and have gotten some great advice, but now it's time to hopefully get some direction to start my career. To give some background, I am 25 years old and have been working in retail, now as a manager, for almost 8 years. IT is what I am trying to break into, most likely as Desktop Support or HelpDesk. I completed my Bachelors in IT from WGU, and am now about 5 courses away from completing my MBA in IT Management from WGU as well. Certification wise, I am currently studying for my CCENT (100-101) with the hopes of getting my CCNA Routing & Switching.
I know it's hard to break into IT without any relevant experience, but I have been involved in technical projects at my current job due to me expressing my passion for IT to my store manager, and being able to be in charge of all of our systems (30 workstations, 15 ipads, 40 iheld devices). I haven't actively looked for a job in about a year but I am looking to start. I had been searching for a job for about 2-3 months last year and applied to about 50+ jobs with only 1 phone interview and 1 in-person interview that kind of traumatized me (The interviewee told me my degree and certifications didn't mean anything to him because I was not currently working in the field).
So I am posting my current resume on here, any advice I can get would be greatly appreciated! This is for an entry-level job to break into the IT field.
