    I would like to know more about Solarwinds and if it is really worth to have a cert. (even if it is free you have to spend time learning)

    Depends on if you use it or not. Lots of uses of the application though. I have used it in an engagement before to my present assignment.

    Look it up on the solarwinds website.

    It is gaining importance - the software. The cert is just out. This is like a beta if you may !

    My new gig uses their monitoring software so I sent in an email. Even if I don't get a certification from it it would be great to learn more about their software's capabilities out of a production network.

    I'm already the Solarwinds guy at work.... No one wanted it when I started so the new guy got it.... I'm interested in this but the last I need is even more reason to be "THE" Solarwinds guy lol.

    This happened to me to, and honestly its a Godsend. So few people know how to operate this stuff and its a critical business function. I was angry getting stuck with this crap, but I've completely come around. In the future this will become even more important.

    So I got fully registered yesterday. Looking over the study guide it looks pretty comprehensive. Those of you with a CCNA/Networking background I think might have an easier time at it??

    Reason I say that is I dont deal with the first 3 sections of the study guide at all. I would Really like to get this cert but it will have to be after I finish the other ones I'm working on. Good look to anyone to pursues it and please leave feed back here some where.

    Took this a few months ago. I enjoyed some of the test that dug into Orion a bit, but other portions need to be a lot harder IMO- or they need to offer various levels. If you've A) used SolarWinds Orion a few times, and B) know networking on a Network+/CCENT level, you can pass.

    I took my first attempt yesterday, having a basic knowledge of networking covered most of the test but I bombed on the Orion NPM part. I ended up with around a 60%, I'll study up on what I can for Orion and should pass next time.
