Question on router hardware and WIC 2T modules.

Hello TechExams,

I'm in the process of buying a CCNP lab and I'm looking at a few options for my Frame Relay Switch. I'm going to need at least 3 serial interfaces on it which brings me to my question, can I insert 2 WIC 2T cards in one router (given it has 2 card slots, that is)? This could give it up to 4 serial interfaces and would work perfectly.

Thanks in advanced for your responses!

Typically yes, but you did not specify model of your router , but usually yes.

Another option is to use a NM-4 or 8 port serial module.

It would be an 1841 Cisco router. Would those 4 slot ones even fit in an 1841??

From what I can tell, the 1841 does support the WIC-2T cards. if you have two slots, I'd think you could put two in. However, the 1841 doesn't support the NM serial module cards.
