Taking 801 tomorrow Aug. 2nd (no IT experience)
Paul6
I'm taking 220-801 tomorrow after two weeks of study.
My study sources were:
Professor Messer's free youtube videos (which are awesome!)
Exam Cram book
I failed the practice exam in the Exam Cram book, but I went over each wrong answer and brushed up on my weak areas. Will let everyone know how I do ...

Update: PASSED! My scored was 769/900 (minimum was 675). Thanks you all for your encouragement.
My thoughts:
-My study materials worked perfectly (
Professor Messer's free video series
, Exam Cram A+ Sixth Edition)
-Definetely go through all the Exam Cram exercises and practices
-I also own the Mike Meyer's "All-in-One" (but didn't use it to prepare). Just glancing at it, I like the Exam Cram book better since it clearly divides the 801 practice questions from the 802 practice questions. This allowed me to focus on the 801 material more easily.
Now I'm hoping to take 220-802 within 1 or 2 weeks.

Good luck.

It was definitely good that I chose to complete all the Exam Cram end-of-chapter quizzes and the practice test.
Next up is 220-802, does anyone know if it is harder compared to 220-801?

Depends on the questions, and material you know well. Everyone told me 701 was easier, and no one has ever failed it in my school and that 702 was harder since only one person failed it. Ironically I did better on 702 then 701, and two months later 10 people in my class failed 701 half of those 10 pass 702. The other half just failed.

I thought 802 was MUCH easier than 801, but it is different for everyone. There was only 1 question on the 802 that I was unsure of (a cell phone question, Blah!) whereas with the 801, I had quite a few that I missed. Although, I could probably make an argument that the 802 was easier because I had already gone through the 801 and I knew what to expect from the testing environment and the types of questions.
If you study hard and know command line and the troubleshooting steps, you'll pass 802 no problem.

Congrats on the pass. unfbilly11 gives good advice on how the 802 can be easier for many people just because you know what to expect from your experience on 801. Also, while it's only 9% of the exam, mobile devices are one of the items that is completely different in the 802 exam compared to the 801. Good luck.
