Hey guys I came across this offer and it is valid. I had my concerns with it so I waited until I received feedback from LinkedIn customer support before posting it in the forum.

The article says 60 months for free but LinkedIn only offers 12 months. Which is still a great offer. Just use your military email as an alternate or have your service listed in your profile. The turnaround is about 12 hours.

It worked out perfectly for me because I retire in a few months.

Make sure you sign up for the FA53 (Information Systems Management Officer) list as well. A lot of good info regarding policy and initiatives come through the list. If you are in Army IT it is the place to gather and share ideas amongst peers.

I only recieved 12 so I thought the article was a bit off and did not want to set expectations too high. I have a ticket in to adjust my request and I hope it will be resolved soon.

In their support forums there is a lot of confusion regarding this promotion, and some are still calling it an urban legend... they sure could have done a lot more to make it more accessible and less confusing.

Although it shows as a monthly plan, this promotion will be be good for 60 billing cycles. You'll be required to enter your credit card details to complete the transaction. However, your card won't be charged during the term of the subscription (60 months). Just remember that if you want to avoid any charges you'll need to contact us during the last free month before the free trial expires.

I'm the gal that started the ruckus on the Free LI Job Seeker Membership for Military and Veterans...I just wanted to assure you LinkedIn has simplified the process by creating a subgroup under "Veteran Mentor Network" and joining the sub Group " LI Job Seeker Upgrade" veterans and military with their service listed in their profile will automatically get the yr long membership, $340, value gratis. No longer is the credit card needed. linkedIn stated if a veteran needs it for longer then 12 months to reapply....so if you are not transitioning out of active yet..I'd join 6-8 months prior to separation....and if still needed...reapply.

I apologize if any of ÿou had issues. I am an Independant writer and advocate...I mean no difficulties for any of you. I thank you for your service and in the future if I have a question on programming...as I have a business idea..may I ask? Or where would you send me ?

My issue was resolved and I received the 60 months. Looks like I slid in under the wire.

As for the programmer question. I would start a new thread and as for guidance. Your question is probably too far down in this one to be noticed easily.
