How to put 2 different but similar positions in resume?

Confusing title I know, but basically I was an IT consultant hired as a temp for about 5 months in my current job. I was then put on full time with the exact same duties.

How can I put this in my resume? Would they be two separate entries?

If you were a temp converted to a direct hire, then I wouldn't put that in as two separate job entries. Just use the direct hire (current employer) as the reference and note that you were a temp that was promoted and brought on-board fulltime.

another question. If your previous job has similar duties to your first job, do we re-list them?

ex. Inventory management, Technical liaison between managers and clients, etc.

If you have a technical skills/expertise section in your resume, I wouldn't repeat duties in that section as it can get redundant. However, if they are two different jobs at two different companies, absolutely list the individual duties, even if they are the same.

That looks fine to me. Maybe make it "IT Consultant via ABC contracting company" so it's a little more clear that you were contracted to work for your current company then went perm, as opposed to having 2 different job titles at XYZ company. It's probably a small bonus to someone looking at the resume that you went C2H.

Well I wasn't really contracted. I was just paid as a contractor under my own name. Thoughts?
