    Thanks Erika for sharing the info... I am now confused, I have my CCNA on Aug 24 and I was planning to finish my MSCA 2012 by April 2014... Question I have is should I write the version without R2 or wait and then write with R2? or can I mix and match ?

    Thanks in advance. :)

    The MCSA and MCSE will not change they are just adding questions with R2 content to the exams. Just like they did with Windows Server 2008 exams when R2 came out. The problem is that I purchased the book for 413 and failed the exam once, I am working on retaking it but now I will need to get it done before April or I might have to start over with studying because of the R2 content.

    so can I do 410 and 411 without R2 and 412 with R2 and still be MSCA - 2012? Since we are on this topic - Wht's the validity of the certification? Do they expiry in 2 or 3 years like any other?

    You will have to re-certify every 3 years starting with the 2012 exams, but at the rate they publish new server software you will be recertifying ever couple of years anyways. I just finished the MCSA 2008 track less than 2 years ago. I did not get the MCITP for EA, figured I would just jump to 2012. I took the 417 upgrade exam to get the MCSA on 2012, and now need 413 and 414 to complete the MCSE.

    @Aaron
    Can I do 410 and 411 without R2 (before Jan 2014) and then do 413 R2 (after Jan 2014) and still be MCSA 2012 certified ?

    Yes, the they are not changing the MCSA or MCSE names to be 2012 R2. The tests are just getting questions added with R2 information.

    Thank you for the update Aaron.

    I am guessing the book below is pretty much going to be out of date as soon as it comes out, unless the author updates the content to include R2 before the release:
