VCP-Desktop (VCPD510) Exam vs VMware View (VCP510-DT) Exam
brentw722
I had taken the
VMware View: Install, Configure, Manage [V5.1]
course a couple months ago for training. It was my understanding (through my instructor) that the only way I could get certified was if I were to take the VCP5-DCV training course and exam first. Looking at the website again it shows differently. Could someone explain to me the difference in the tests of VCPD510 and VCP510-DT. I feel like an idiot but it is just confusing me.

QHalo
You either take the DCV course and then take the DCV test and pass to be eligible or take the class you've already taken and now you're eligible if I'm reading their site correctly. You either have to be a current VCP or take the class.

OK. I read it over and over and the more I look at it the more it seemed like it was 2 different exams. I am comprehending it as I take the DCV and then I can take the VMWare View VCP510-DT Exam. Since I have not taken the DCV but have taken the class I am eligible to take the VCP-Desktop (VCPD510). Im really wondering if these are two different exams or not.

See here:
(VCP5-DT) VMware Certified Professional - Desktop
Your View training combined with the Desktop exam will gain you the DT certification.
The View and Desktop exams are different - the Desktop exam will also ask you about vSphere - review the exam blueprint for details.
