vCloud MTU mismatch

How sensitive is vCD 5.1 to MTU mismatch? I've been troubleshooting vCD network problem and the problem seems to be either vShield or MTU (1600 on vCD, 1500 on physical switch).

I have it on good authority that the settings above shouldn't be an issue because when the host first boots up it sends out a discovery packet to find out the MTU size (Path MTU Discovery - Packet Life).

Also a 1600 MTU setting indicates that you enabled VXLan on installation, are you actually using it?
