I have not found much on this site, does anybody have any good study resources for these tests?

Yes I ordered the books a year ago, sadly the MS books have been leaving much to be desired.

Jhon Arthur be careful when you look for resources. That site looks suspiciously like a braindump, CertGuard crashed when I put the domain URL in so I can't say for sure. It's useless just learning answers for a test, you need the knowledge for a career in IT.

Anyone found any useful resources for this exam? I bought the exam reference as an ebook so it isn't even useful to help light the grill. The Inside Out and Unleashed guides aren't study guides. They may have good information for the 410, 411, 412 exams, but they don't cover some of the topics on the 413 exam. They may have information on other topics, however trying to find one exam objective across three chapters between two books isn't productive. The 413 Training Kit has been pushed back to March 2014, along with the exam reference guide for 414. That will be 18 months after Server 2012 and the exams went GA and just in time for 2012 R3 to be in consumer preview.

None of the legitimate practice test vendors have 413 or 414 exams. A search just returns page after page of braindumps. Even the sites that aren't flagged at Certguard just look fishy

The technet links on the Born to Learn page aren't very good. How do you scale out a service in VMM? You scale it out by scaling it out. Thanks for that brilliant insight. How much money does Microsoft save by having the blogosphere write all their documentation for them? I'm guessing a collection of blog posts from all over the web is going the best source.

there is not much. the exam ref book is very light on detail.

There are CBT Nuggets for both exams. I haven't used those 2, but I did use the 411 and 412 videos as the sole study source for those exams and they were quite good, and enough to help me pass.

I have been an MCSE/MCITP-EA on every version since Windows 2000. I took the 70-413 exam this week and failed with a score of 550. To study I read the 70-413 Exam Ref book cover-to-cover, worked with Server 2012 for quite a while periodically at work, went over the exam outline, referenced and crammed for 3 days by going over most of the book again and referencing TechNet... I guess I'm going to hit TechNet some more to try to acquire the rest of the knowledge I'm missing. The sad thing is I thought I was doing quite well during the exam. Then I got to the end... Doh!

It would be really nice if there were more study materials for this exam...

careeracademy was running a competition on their facebook page giving away a free course to people who liked their page and i managed to win a free course. I have asked for 70-413 so will see if they give it to me and advise of the quality. I am a bit short on cash because of other priorities so nice if this turns out to be a good exam prep.

I vouch for CBT Nuggets as they are pretty thorough. Except the 70-413 especially is very dry material. This is all I am using and I am sitting for the exam tomorrow.

I agree, i am disappointed they went with a trainer other than James Conrad for the 70-413 course. They could have at least used Tim Warner. I think CBT Nuggets really rushed the releases to be first on the market.

yea. The guy for the 413 sounds like a robot. At first when I watch the videos I was like "guess they went the cheap router and got an automated system to teach this". Then I looked and saw it was an actual person XD

Well I passed my 74-409 today, now to decide if I can take on the 413 and 414 before the R2 changes

Well, the R2 changes for 413 and 414 are not until April so that should be plenty of time. I am planning on having my MCSE in a few weeks.

April is very soon for me. I work 60+ hours a week, school for masters degree, wife and 3 kids and a million projects at home that need to be done.

Please update us on your exam experience. I've watched the CBT Nuggets on the 413 and couldn't pay good attention. Not because of the presenter necessarily, but the material just seemed like a rehash of what was learned from the MCSA. Working through the Measureup practice test now along with skimming the book. Hopefully that will do the trick.

Failed 600/1000. 2 case studies that incorporated a good chunk of the exam. Be sure to pay attention to those CBT videos and know what steps to take to complete stuff because there were alot of drag and drops. Unfortunately I cannot reschedule the exam until MS updates their website. Sucks because if I were to reschedule this tomorrow I know I would pass. I just couldn't study the last few days as my Wife has had her family over and I could not concentrate

last time i checked 413 and 414 we supposed to have R2 content in April? April is fast approaching and if this correct why haven't we seen any new objectives published? They seemed to give plenty of warning for the other Server 2012 exams...

Because it's not April yet? They only posted the R2 objectives for 410/411/412 once the exam content was updated. I would not place any bets on seeing 413/414 books on March 31st as intended - they just put the 411 Exam Ref book back until June 25th. And as far as I can see they are releasing the books in order. It's nothing short of a joke - I've changed my 2014 plans from MCSE 2012 -> VCAP-DCA to VCAP-DCA -> MCSE 2012 because of the delays...

Nice find. I must of only noticed it once the MCSA exams got updated... it wouldn't surprise me that they delayed R2 for 413/414

I've been an avid CBTNuggets fan for more than a year.....i passed my CCNA with flying color with the help of CBT but when I started studying for the 70-410, their nuggets on that course literally sucks...the instructor assumes that I have a vast knowledge bout 2008 server & he was just skimming thru all the topics & most of the time just trying to be funny with his quirky personal jokes.....just tried out the Pluralsight.com today & belive me not, Ed Liberman Rocks....u fellows should check it out....

i only need the 70-414 for the MCSE but I can't find any info regarding a book for this exam, I know the content is being updated to R2 for 413/414 but is there going to be a book available for this with R2 content in the near future?

I bought the 70-414 book 18 months ago on Amazon and keep getting emails with changed release dates, I am taking the test in a month so I am sure I will cancel the book unless I fail

The 413 and 414 are supposed to update at the end of April if I am remembering correctly. I do not feel like searching for the posting. Either way my 413 is on the 29th of this month and my 414 is on the 21 of April

The 70-414 book is on the UK Microsoft website which says March 31st but I would not believe that, on Amazon.com it says July 25th! Server 2012 went RTM August 2012 - there is nearly a 2 year wait for books at this stage!

So are people just using technet / cbt nuggets to find the material for the 414 exam? I personally really like to have a book to read even if its complete rubbish like the 413 book at least it points you to all the relevant stuff on technet.

Yeah, TechNet / CBT Nuggets / Pluralsight / Microsoft Official Curriculum - I'm not a fan of the MOCs personally, but I like having a book no matter how crap too.
