Wanted to share a problem and its solution. So from the morning a system wont boot, short continous beeps, so thought that its obviously a RAM problem, replaced RAM,changed slots, inserted one RAM at a time still problem persists. Replaced the system(without changing mouse, keyboard, power chords) still the same problem. Changed the power cable, still no. Finally i forgot to connect keyboard, system starts! i know its one of the basic things to disconnect all the devices and connect one at a time but it never came to my mind that a keyboard will cause a system to give POST error in modern systems. And also i am in the field for just 1 and a half years.

It was an PS/2 keyboard.“Satisfaction lies in the effort, not in the attainment; full effort is full victory.” -

The lack of a pattern to the beeps was the key here. This is an age-old problem and was frequently solved by picking the keyboard up 6 inches and then dropping it to unstick a key.WGU - BS IT: ND&M | Start Date: 12/1/12, End Date 5/7/2013
