Time frame for CCNA:Security

Hey guys,

I am Ali, currently passed CCNA (Routing and switching). I am moving to States next month.

I really wanna do CCNA Security and i only have 15 days to do it. I should go for it? Also, I am free and dont do any work.

Kindly Help me on this!

Only have 15 days to complete it? Can you start the CCNA Security material and then finish it after your move to the states/

Yes, got only 15 days to leave for states. I can do self study through cert. guides and cbt nuggets.

Will I be able to do it? Ive gotta job in states on CCNA level. I want to do CCNA security now as i am free 24/7. I dont think i ll be able to make it on my first year over there.

Do you recommend me doing that?

I'd say go for it, its not enough time to absorb everything, but if you are going to be working in the networking field, you'll be getting experience eventually.

Just start studying for your NA Security..expecting to do it in 15 days is short sighted. Do you want to pass a test or actually learn Security?

If you're truly devoted, you're talking about a minimum of 150 hours at 10hrs/day. That seems more than sufficient to not only pass the test, but to actually gain a decent understanding of the material. Might as well try.

+1. It is entry level stuff so if you have some experience it won't be that challenging. However, I don't think this is something that should be rushed.

Thanks guys, I think i should go for CCNA Security and study ten hours each day. I know I will not absorb everything but still 150 hours a huge investment.

At 10 hrs a day, u should pass the test. And that is the short term goal. Follow up study will be necessary though, if you want to retain. But thats how it is no matter how much time you've invested to pass a test.
