You got that right Cat5. I started off on the wrong foot two years ago. I am not actually working in the industry like I want (I am desktop support). But because I was able to pass the Network+ and Security+, I thought I will take the all in one test.....big mistake. Failed twice. Swallowed my pride and took the two exams separately. Once I was in my car and looking at the test results sheet...I was literally in tears. To work so hard for something. Now to get some experience and trying to land a Cisco job....and continuing to go after additional Cisco certs. -

disfunktedfish Member Posts: 5 ■□□□□□□□□□Congrats Rod, your story sounds like a co-worker of mine that took the big test twice after I gave him the advice of taking two separate tests to instead of the big one. I think mostly everyone has failed a cert test at one time or another. It's the fact that you never gave up and now you have what you set off to get even though you got knocked around. I'm sure with that sort of determination you're going to do fine in the field of IT.

I appreciate the kind words. I wish I had found someone to mentor me......or maybe this forum BEFORE I started to study for the big exam. I know I could have save myself probably at least 6 months of time. Long story even longer....after failing the all in one the second time (I actually scored worse the 2nd exam) I am sitting in my vehicle, confused because I thought I had study so much. Angry because the test clearly showed I didn't know as much as I thought I knew. Disheartened because I didn't know what I wanted to do at that point. I usually go play golf after a cert, pass or fail. But I just couldn't do it. Instead I sat on my couch for about an hour in empty thought of what am I to do what am I to do? Then I went online and Google searched Cisco support groups. And after a little time, that is where I found this site. So many supportive people, such great insights, such integrity. It really helped me refocus. I wrote this not just to share this to you. But also maybe this will help someone else stay determined.
Thanks again for the kind words, greatly appreciated. -
