It took me a while, but CCNA has been achieved!

What started in 2010, when my kids started school for the first time, made me go to school again, with me going into the associate degree program at the local college for the networking specialist program finally concluded yesterday, completing this particular endeavor which was to finally obtain CCNA. Those that may have followed my previous threads, Network Academy Done, One Semester to Go, and Breaking the ICE, will remember this took me a long time.

It's great to say, today, I actually have NOTHING to study. Its time to recharge my mind, and be more hands on, and less reading and studying in order to pass some test. I will of course move on to other certifications in time, but for now, I'm just working, coaching, and living life. It's just been a long ride, and you mix in non-networking classes for a guy that was never really a 'school guy' like the college algebra, and macroeconomics, and its a blessing my wife and I are still together!!

So, good luck to all that are working on the tests, and congrats to all that have passed. The deadline is coming end of month so I really wanted to get ICND2 done before it changed.

Now, after I rest, I wonder what will be next? Voice? Security? Wireless for CCNA? We'll read up and see how it goes when its time to start hitting it again.

Does anyone have any suggestions for books I can add to my tablet for reading that aren't geared toward passing a test, but more along the lines of real life networking that a CCNA might have interest in reading?

    Congrats, I agree with networker, Network Warrior is a good also websites like Network World are really good to pay attention to. I see a lot of people kind of close themselves off to just know about things that are in exams and don't keep up with actual technological news.

    I feel you man. I just passed the exam today. I been studying for 1 year. WHen I started CCENT, my wife was pregnant, so doing a lot of OT, did not have time to finish up. I was trying to read the book for 1 year, but our new born(now almost 8months)girl ask for so much attention, never let us alone. But i spared a 3weeks to study and focus. everyday 2-3 hours for 3 weeks and I did it. I was trying to read it before on tablet, but real book is much better. I couldnt understand a lot of topics. But as soon as I started to read the paper back book, information was flowing to my brain in full duplex setting :)

    I wanna continue to study, but take couple of weeks of, then decide what to do. I am interested to this network warrior book, but can anybody tell me, is it worth to pay full price for 2011 edition, while the 2007 version is $6-7 used?
    WGU classes: Transferred -> AGC1, CLC1, TBP1, CJC1, BVC1, C278, CRV1, IWC1, IWT1, C246, C247, C132, C164, INC1, C277. Appealed -> WFV1 and C393.
    What is Left to take - > EUP1, EUC1, C220, C221, BNC1, GC1, C299, CTV1, DJV1, DHV1, CUV1, CJV1, TPV1, C394
    Currently Studying -> CCNA security (Designing Customized Security & Security)

    Since it's more real world based, I don't think you'd want to get the 7 year old book. Not only that, the author fixed many things and the organization is a lot better, or at least that's what I've read.

    Well done. I just recently got my CCENT. I will be going for CCNA next year. I then will be looking towards Security + then CCNA Security or maybe the other way around. Haven't decided. :) Good luck and Congratz again!
