Hi Everyone,

First of all, am glad I found a forum to clear my doubts, to clarify, to discuss & to find a path to enhance my skill sets,
I found interest in ITIL Certification because I am partly associated with quality of Service delivery & Client management on the whole, however my other part of work is I am a functional consultant in ERP Project and do not possess much of coding or development skills, I have worked in this line as domain specialist, implementation specialist & bridge between end user & development & project management team for enhancements & Changes in the product. so now I was advised by friends and some of my collugues that I may take up ITIL certification which will help my career growth, currently this is my first job & have 3 yrs & 5 months of exp.

My Question is : Can someone/anyone advice/suggest me weather this ITIL Certification will help me improve visibility of my CV, boost my career & importantly help me get a good job in the future i.e. after certification ?

I do not know your industry well. I would always seek the most recognized certifications that apply to the specific industry I work in.

Sounds like your work may revolve around change management, project management, user management, etc. When you described your role I kind of got lost in exactly it is that you do, but if ITIL are the most popular certs for what you do, seek them first. What about project managent certifications? Seems you are getting functional project time which could go towards the PMP...

Hey, your credentials sound more along the line of the PMP (Project Management Professional). If I were you I would definitely look into that. While the ITIL is a great cert to have, the PMP seems to be more along your line of work.

    Thank you maurice0422,

however I do not have the qualification to take up PMP cert. as per understanding one should have worked with Project management department or team at least for 3 years only then the candidate can take up PMP cert,

But just let me know if ITIL cert will help me,,
