Will i need to get myself one or will the book/Messer route be ok..
I've also downloaded the GNS3 open source software as well, will this be of any use to me ?

Maybe the most you'd have to lab would be in the CMD prompt with things like Ipconfig, ns lookup, and those kinds of commands.And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. TechGuru80 Member Posts: 1,539 ■■■■■■□□□□You won't need GNS3 for Network+. Network+ is conceptual and you don't need to know syntax on configuring a router. Definitely know ping, traceroute, dig, arp though.

However, know your Windows and Linux basic network troubleshooting commands like Windows: Ping, IPconfig, Tracert and Linux: Ping, ARP, Traceroute, ifconfigBrocade: BAIS, BACNS, BAEFS Cisco: CCENT, CCNA R&S CWNP: CWTS Juniper: JNCIA-JUNOS
