Optionsthe_Grinch Member Posts: 4,165 ■■■■■■■■■■What a bunch of crap. I applied last time and on USAJobs they said I submitted everything along with being referred for the next step in the hiring process. A few weeks later I get an email saying I didn't include something (they didn't say what) and that I was removed from the process. Let it be a warning, make sure you give them everything they asked for (though it might not mean much).WIP:

Don't let that stop you. From the research I have done, it WILL take over a year to at the very least start training from the minute the listing closes. I'll throw in random dates, but a common selection schedule would be something like...
Listing closes:
11/13/2013
Invited to take Oral exam:
4/1/2014
If you pass a conditional offer is made and you go through getting your clearances:
Medical: 6/1/2014
Security: 9/1/2014
Then you are invited to start training in DC lets say for classes starting:
Training 11/1/2014
Depending on where you are getting sent to, you could be in DC for anywhere from a few months to a full year. At this point you end up getting shipped out lets say on:
3/1/2015
Edit: Of course this is based off the research that I've done for the regular IMS (not what seems to be this new position)

OptionsCCNTrainee Member Posts: 213I would assume the Govt shutdown is playing a role with the position. Lol
I got a question for you kind sir, would they accept people that already have a clearance?? That Nov time frame would be perfect; since that is the earliest I can leave the Service. -
OptionsNyblizzard Member Posts: 332 ■■■■□□□□□□And to think people still treat the shutdown as a joke! Well I'm certainly no expert with what goes into the hiring process, but I'd have to think that having an already active Security clearance could only be a boon as far as your initial candidacy goes..... but I'd imagine they would still like to conduct the check on their end, especially if your clearance is on it's way out. Don't they expire every 5 years or so?O

yes, a person with an active or inactive but current clearance is ideal. Even if your clearance is DoD, they will likely honor the BI, (its fiscally smart;) ) -

Welcome to the government, lol. I can't even remember how many times important documents were lost when I was in the Army. I filled several forms multiple times because they would lose them repeatedly. When I transitioned from active duty to the Indiana National Guard, they lost EVERYTHING. My online military personnel file was empty. -
Optionsthe_Grinch Member Posts: 4,165 ■■■■■■■■■■It's a first for me and I've worked for the Federal government previously. In my previous position the background literally required me mailing them a hard copy of about 50 pages worth of documentation (besides transcripts, medical info, etc) and nothing was lost (thank God). I don't doubt they lose things, but when it's a case of all uploaded documents I tend to think they have people in mind for the position and cut out a few. With the State now and no issues.WIP:
