Now that I'll be working for my #1 choice company, I'm not sure what to do with my LinkedIn profile. Do I update it and keep networking or not bother, since my current plan's to be a lifer?

Keep it updated mate, you never know. Besides, the more people you know the better it is. I'd imagine when you've been with them for a few years and have earned a VCDX or two (or three most likely!), you'll want to strike out on your own. Even more money then.

I'm late to the party but congrats! Your career path/progress is quite impressive.

I guess my follow up question is what color Ferrari are you buying? icon_wink.gif

That salary is the exact reason I am planning on moving towards virtualization and data storage ie, NetApp/EMC.

Congrats on the job and keep that LinkedIn profile going.

If Virtualisation is such a big thing then I must look at doing some certs after CCIE...
Or just do CCIE DC :D

Accepted an offer of Senior Consultant position today. Seems like a great company with lots of advancement opportunity. Salary wise, I'll be closer to $200k than $100k. Not bad for someone 2 weeks shy of 3 year in IT. Too bad wife's working late tonite. icon_sad.gif

Can you give a little more detailed info on your career path in IT, specifically your certs.

My career path probably won't be too helpful since I switched careers into IT. I thought I had a thread about how I switched to IT, but can't seem to find it. As for the certs, all my certs are listed below my avatar.

Found it. See post #6: http://www.techexams.net/forums/off-topic/82554-happy-anniversary.html

First full week at the new job. Filling out lots of paperwork, trouble tickets and new hire training. So far not even close to being done. Good thing I'm planning on staying for a while. Hate to do all this for 2-3 year stint.

Maxed out my 401k at my last job, so can't take advantage of the better 401k matching at the new job. icon_mad.gif

Do they make you wait a year before they hit you with it? This place does. Freakin blows.

Good luck Dave, I'm sure you won't need it.
