So I'm really not impressed with the videos in this course. I find them very hard to follow and very lacking in detail or depth.

I've started watching CBT Nuggets videos after I watch the course video as a backup and find them much much more informative and helpful.

Are any of you guys using anything else to supplement this course as your going through it? If so what are you using? I'm planning on taking the VCP exam as soon as I can after the course and want to make sure I get the most out of this course as I can.

My understanding is that this class is very regimented by VMware and that it is not intended to be the sole resource you use, but rather a means of at least exposing you to vCenter, ESXi, vSphere and all the other virtualization tools instead of just having you read a book.

One of my supervisors said the class requirement is just a tax, but I admit that I've actually picked up quite a bit from the labs, so that at least has been worth the cost of entry, although I would never consider paying the outrageous amounts charged for those 5-day courses or boot camps. Sorry, not worth it.

The >$250 paid for this class was a perfect cost vs benefit ratio for me, and I would definitely recommend the Stanly CC course to anyone considering going for the VPC5.

From someone who hasn't been able to use vSphere: I read the Scott Lowe book before starting this course which was great. I've found the labs great because at least I get to see and try what I've been reading. I've found the videos almost terrible and borderline useless, but I watched all of them anyhow.

That being said, I'd highly recommend this course over anything else I've seen around by far due to the price.

Totally agree with Radiohead316 about the videos, they are very superficial and don't over anything else that you wouldn't get by reading the slides.

I'll also go through CBT and Scott Lowe's book, as I doubt I'd pass the test only with this course.

By the way, I think that the labs are great (except for being slow sometimes) to get in touch with the vcenter/esxi if you don't have experience or just a little.

So I see I now have credit for the class in my VMware profile.

Where does one get the voucher and other goodies?

cruwl, go to https://vmware.stanly.edu/ and log in with the same user/pass used in moodle, there you can find the voucher code and other freebies.

My profile also already shows the ICM5 course as done, I've also scheduled the exam for late january :)

If I can't access the VMware store at Stanly who should I contact? There's no information on the store page regarding that.

Ok I can login fine still to moodle but the link you gave me gives me an error stating: Please enter a valid e-mail address.

Anyone else having problems logging into the site??: https://vmware.stanly.edu/

My access was not working either on the first time, so I just sent an e-mail to the instructor and he fixed that.

What email address are you guys using? I've tried my vmware education email, the email I signed up with for Stanly, my Moodle account, and my Stanly email account and none of them are working. I emailed the instructor twice now but no answer.
