I would like to know whats the best route to take to becoming a Desktop Support Admin/System Administrator. What experience and certs/education required or recommended.As well as whats the best entry level positions to start with. Im really looking for help in the IT field to break in to.

Desktop Support is usually the next step after Helpdesk.
Just get your foot in the door somewhere and maybe a few certs (MCSA W7, A+ etc)
So it would likely go Helpdesk -> Desktop Support -> Jr Admin-> System Admin
