Given the same type, and years of experience, which combination would be better?

For someone wanting to break into security, possibly network security?

CCNA
CCNA Security
Security+

versus

CCNA
CCNP

I was just curious what you guys think

    Depends on your current experience. If you have none then CCNA Security and Security+ would be better. From a theory point of view, a CCNP R&S knows very little if anything on network security.

    It's really not even close, especially if you don't know you want to do network stuff. CCNA is big-name job-finder, Sec+ is an afterthought you can leverage to get some security-related responsibilities once you have a job.
