Unexpected job change

I love my current company, but I"ve got an opportunity too good to pass up. I going to start my new role as a platform consultant with Red Hat on 11/18.
Red Hat's interview process was pretty tough. Not as intense as Amazon (from what I've heard) but I spent a good 3 hours at their Tyson's Corner office meeting with managers and potential peers, and giving a 45 minute presentation on a project I've worked on in the past.
This should definitely be an exciting challenge. I have a feeling I'm going to learn a lot at Red Hat.

jmritenour Member Posts: 565Yeah, the presentation in the interview was unlike anything else I've ever done before, and I was definitely a little apprehensive about it. The thing was, I only got a week to prepare for it, which is hard when you have kids and a long commute. I was definitely relieved when it was over, but it felt like it went reasonably well at least."Start by doing what is necessary, then do what is possible; suddenly, you are doing the impossible." - St. Francis of Assisi

jmritenour Member Posts: 565Well, here we are 3 months later, and I just wanted to say I LOVE it at Red Hat. The culture here is amazing. In 3 months, I've got to touch a lot of different stuff, and I feel like my knowledge has increased exponentially. RH is definitely big on training their associates, consultants in particular. Over the course 3 months, I've probably spent about a month in training on different products/technologies, not including the informal self guided stuff - I've got access to all RH coursework so I can pull anything I want and work on it on my own time if I want.
I've spent the past month working on a Cloudforms deployment at a government agency. It's a team project, and it's been one of the best atmospheres I've ever worked in, everyone on team is really strong in at least one area, and we're all working well together for the most part. There are definitely a lot of smart people at RH, and most everyone is very good about sharing their knowledge.
I really liked where I worked previously, but this is without a doubt my dream job. I don't see myself going anywhere any time soon."Start by doing what is necessary, then do what is possible; suddenly, you are doing the impossible." - St. Francis of Assisi
