Cisco router for home / Lab

Hi Guys,

I think it would be best if i replace my router that I have with a cisco one to get some experience.

Now, I have found this Cisco RV110W Wireless-N VPN Firewall  [Cisco Small Business RV Series Routers] - Cisco Systems for relatively cheap (im not in the USA).

I would assume this has a GUI? Would I just set it up via Telnet / SSH? Is this router even decent to practice on?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

It wouldn't be useful for studying for certifications.

OK so these types of routers are just normal web based configuration ones?

I think 870 series is the smallest one you can get with proper IOS, and it's quiet one too.

A GUI for Cisco certifications is not really relevant because pretty much everything is done at the command line.

Ok thanks, I will look at the 870 series as I want to use a home router with IOS.

Depending if you're firm on having N wireless and latest IOS. The 871 makes a good little home router, especially as it's very quiet.

I picked up a refurbished 887W from a UK based Ebay seller. It's N wireless and came with IOS 15 (advanced security). The configuration setup is a little different as it has an embedded wireless module. Slightly larger than the 871, it works very well tho.
