does my resume suck?

please be honest, i really want to break into the field but i don't know how to overcome my lack of experience. ive taken the time and money to get the certifications listed but im still not getting very many call backs and the ones i do(recruiters) tell me the clients are looking for someone with more exp

I'm not a big fan of it. I'd start it off with a summary. Talk yourself up a bit. Since you don't have applicable experience I'd follow that up with education and certification. Those are your selling points so you want them first. Then a skills section, but not just installation blah blah over and over. Word it a bit better. Then finally a condensed version of your experience highlighting any of your technology exposure there.

ok thanks alot! and is there a difference between an objective statement and a summarization? because i was told by some to omit that because its obvious what a persons goals are by viewing your resume in the first place.

I agree with Networker. Along with what he said, the formatting looks a bit wonky. There is no direct separation from one section to another and it looks rather plain. While it is functional and I appreciate function over form hiring managers and recruiters need something that stands out for it to catch their attention. Think cats and shiny things. (No offense to any hiring managers that are reading this.)

If you don't have a lot of experience I noticed that you're still in school. If your schedule allows for it you could try applying for some internships. I did an internship for the Idaho Veterans Services IT department and gathered a lot of useful experience in help desk, server administration, networking and executive support. I was there for about 6 months and made quite a few contacts there. It didn't pay anything but working 3 days a week for 8 hours a day was great experience and they loved having someone to pawn off the simple stuff onto.

Even just going around doing odd jobs for people for free would be a good thing to do so you have a talking point even.

Yes there is a difference between an objective and a summary. I think objectives are pretty useless. It's a given that you want to get a job or else you wouldn't be sending in your resume. A summary is basically your whole resume summed up into a couple sentences.

I'll leave the heavy lifting to the real pros here, but the part about saving 10% of spending by cutting back on sticky notes smells like BS. Maybe reword that part so it's more believable?
