XenServer 6.2 Home Lab Setup help

I'm trying to setup a home lab for myself. I tried off one PC and the connection kept dropping. I then VM'd it off my Workstation and added another NIC, but it still keeps dropping. So my questions is, in regards to setting up a cheap home server solution to comply with the HCL for XenServer 6.2, what server would you guys recommend?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean dropping? Dropping packets? Dropping the link?

From XenCenter -> Xen Server or from your network to the VM?

I have a dell i7 workstation thats several years old now and it does a very good job - its all about the processor type.
