CCENT Study

Hey guys so I am new to your website and thus far am finding it to be great. Theres practice tests, simulators good stuff, I like it. I did tonight notice that the CCENT practice tests say they were updated some time ago, does anyone have recommended avenues or resources to study for this exam?

you can find some good videos on uedmy by chris bryant. He has a whole series for the new CCNA that can be had for pretty cheap with the coupons that are always going around (usually from 65-75% off making it around $40). Ine.com has free video lectures available for the old curriculum also. Cisco press has their updated CCNA official cert guide out by Wendell Odom, sybex has the updated CCNA books out from Todd Lammle too. Make sure whatever you use is updated, or if not you compare the new exam topics to the old because the topics moved around between ICND1 and ICND2 in the new vs the old and you don't want to miss out on some key topics.

Sounds great, I read the Sybex ICND1 book and it was well written. Is there a heavy emphasis on IPv6? It was one of the chapters I stuggled on.

I can recommend Chris Bryant's course on udemy.com I am working on CCENT/CCNA myself. He does a really good job explaining I got his ICND1 book from Amazon as well.

IPv6 is well covered in his guide since it looks like most of IPv6 is in ICND1(CCENT) and much less in ICND2(CCNA)

Building a good foundation knowledge of IPv6 is necessary not only for the ICND1 cert, but also the fact that IPv6 doesn't go anywhere the farther you progress into Cisco certifications and if you don't learn it now you'll be lost later on.

I see you just got your CCENT the other day, good work man. Staying within the bounds of the rules any chapters or things I should really hammer down on, or spread it even across the book? Gonna check out Bryant's book this weekend thanks for the tip.

Luckly, the subnetting which I've heard was daunting and almost constant; I had a good time learning, we covered TCP/IP and subnetting for a full work week when I was in school! That plus all the good info you guys have given, all is well on this corner of the earth! Thank you

Before the new exam I got hit with a couple of IPv6 questions. It's good to know for exam purposes. For real-world you may be a leader if you dive into IPv6 further.

I just started studying for CCENT myself and my school provides CBT Nugget videos that so far I can say are pretty engaging, packed full of information, and somehow the instructor almost makes it fun when watching his videos. No one has mentioned it so I thought I'd throw it out there. Good luck!

Yea one of the guys in my organization is watching the Nuggets right now, says they are enjoyable. I was on CISCO's website and for the CCNA Security (possible in the future hummm

) It seems to have a lot of IPv6, so could be good stuff!
