Does 3524XL work for CCNP ?

I mates,
I think I just made an horrible mistake.
Recently I bought 2 Catalyst 3524XL, cause I thought it was like 3550 (I'm working with other vendors, not CISCO)
Now, I just found that 3524 are not L3 switches.
Should I throw away these craps or keep them for my CCNP ?
I feel horrible right now

Yeah, pretty much they're L2 switches.
I remember finding the thread below last year before committing to the CCNP.

Not a bad idea to learn the legacy way of handling VLAN's with IOS. There are plenty of these dinosaurs still out there in the wild.
