The CCNA book I bought is insuffuicent for me to learn. I don't even know where it is.

I need to start with a beginers books. Then If you can I would like the full blown help books for CCNA. I believe Ill be taking a course thatll help me with my CCNA next year in college but I don't think itll be enough.

I know its been asked million of times I just can't find the specific post.

Now that i am half way through the A+ class, I wanna start CCNA studying.

Ive been reading posts left and right on this forum, but I don't really understand most of them. so ya.

By the Cisco Press self study books by Wendell Odom, two books, one for INTRO, and one for ICND. Buy togther as a package and its cheaper.

Do you have an idea of the cost cause once I know that, Im driving to book store.

Dont buy it at a book store, buy it on ciscopress.com and get it for 30% off, or amazon.com. Or even Ebay. I beleive I got the package for around 100 bucks, but it was a couple of years ago.

I am always open to any Certs, So you think I should studt for and take network + before CCNA?


What I have been doing latly is staying up, and googling words or things Ive read before in my CCNA book, reading those articles i find, then finding words or things in that I don't know and repeating the process I started a notepad with all the words I have found definitions to and read articles or papers on. Mostly routing protocals. example: ISDN, RIP, VLSM, OSPF. Stuff like that. I find it really helpful.

i'm not sure of anyone elses thoughts but i would suggest network +, as its a good grasp of alot of non-vendor specific technologies. vlans, isdn, T1, T3, cabling and ect.

alot of it transfers over to ccna very well

www.bookpool.com has cheap books too, i get all my books from there...

your mainly going to find the one book for ccna in more places than others

Im kinda gonna have to buy it at a book store cause I still live at home and my parents don't really want me to spend money, so I can't do it over internet.

Ill see what i can find, any reccomendations for network+ books?
