friend of mine receiving error and cant get into the PC
Hey guys, a friend of mine while booting the PC gets this error message. Dont know if its a boot virus or not. She has Windows XP
Internet Explorer Driver
Run-time error ‘91’
Object variable or with block variable not set
She later then gets this second error message
neric Host Process for Win32 Services
NT Authority\System
An error has been detected for Win32 and Windows must
Shut down.
(then it begins a countdown clock starting at 50 seconds; when it gets to zero, Windows closes any open programs and shuts down, then restarts)
She just had an upgrade to a DSL connection. I know when I upgrade my connection to cable in the past, my Internet Explorer got loaded with Browser helper programs, spyware from the cable company. It was crazy. So I dont know if it is that or a reboot virus. She cannot login to her computer.
Should I trie going into Safe Mode, then install Adaware, SpyBot, then run Stinger or Norton Anti Virus?

RussS Member Posts: 2,068 ■■■□□□□□□□The fastest and easiest way to solve this is to slave the drive to another machine and run a full system AV sweep. Once you have done that fire it up and do a full spyware sweep - chances are that will solve your problems. Personally I suggest Ewido and the MS Antispyware tool for your spyware scanners.www.supercross.com

RussS Member Posts: 2,068 ■■■□□□□□□□Yes they are free for personal use. I also use AntiVir as a backup AV scanner as you can install it without the integration and it works excellently. It also has the advantage of not getting nuked by most of the viruses out there that disable AV progs such as those from Symantec, McAfee, CA and others.www.supercross.com
