Do I need an ASA?

Hey, Everybody, I have the CCENT but looking to get the CCNA Security.

I have a router, and two switches.

For those that went through the CCNA Security did you need an ASA for your studies? If so where did you purchase the ASA from?

Thanks!

You don't need an ASA for CCNA Security. The ASA is briefly touched on in the NA. However, when you start the CCNP Security, you will really need one.
Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity. My crime is that of judging people by what they say and think, not what they look like. My crime is that of outsmarting you, something that you will never forgive me for.

I just did a virtual ASA in gns3, I found an ASA image and got it working just fine. However I will say it was a little bit of a pain to setup. Loads of web searches and videos helped me get it working though. Master of Puppets is correct in the fact that you really don't touch it much in the CCNA: Security track. I was a little disappointed by that...

Best of luck on your studies.

I picked one up because nothing simulates on the job experience like actually using an ASA. Price wise on eBay around $300-400 USD but versions and features will differ.
