Is Florida in general a bad place for IT jobs?

I'd say yes. I'm originally from Miami, born and raised. I couldn't find an IT job for 6 years and I was working for FPL at the time. So, I moved to Atlanta and haven't had any problems finding work. If you must stay in Florida, then it's best to move North like Orlando.

I live in Orlando and there are opportunities up here. Not as much as I would like but they are here. Check Indeed

Syntax

Orlando there are quite a few IT jobs.. I was able to land one pretty easily. I have since moved to Jacksonville, and was able to find a job pretty quickly also. Check Indeed and Craigslist.

I hope it gets better in a few years, my wife wants to move to Miami in the future... away from my SF bay area
