I passed this exam today with a 93%. I failed it last month with a 68%. Previously, I studied using WGU's provided uCertify material. The uCertify material, in my opinion, was pathetically short of the depth needed for this exam. I made the mistake of underestimating this exam at my own peril.

My second attempt study plan included Entuware practice exams and Mala Gupta's OCA Java SE 7 exam book. This was far better preparation than uCertify. I did all 500 questions in Enthuware, averaging about 73% over all 17 practice tests I took. I wholeheartedly recommend both aforementioned study materials for anyone seeking to pass this exam. The WGU provided head First Java is a great book but not nearly deep enough to get you to clear this exam.

Congrats on the pass! MY experience with UCertify is about the same with yours. So far, I just pass on anything UCertify except maybe some practice exams.

Thanks everyone! Mala's book was great. I did spend a little time lurking on javaranch and found Mala's posts to be very helpful.
