The major difference has to do with DTP packets.
Dynamic Desirable = sends DTP packets and will actively try to convert the link to a trunk. Dynamic Desirable on one end will result in a trunk if the other end is configured as Trunk, Dynamic Auto, or Dynamic Desirable.
Dynamic Auto = does NOT send DTP packets. It awaits a trunking negotiation from the other end. If Dynamic Auto is configured on one end, the other end must be Trunk or Dynamic Desirable for a trunk to form.
