Need some advice on what to learn

I am trying to learn windows server since there are a lot of jobs that are looking for this skill in my state (NY). Should i learn Windows Server 2008 or Windows 2012?

Even though R2 is now out for 2012, there will still be a majority of servers out there holding 2008 compared to 2012. If there's no plans from Microsoft to retire the MCSA 2008 within the next 6 months then I would go with that first and then upgrade to 2012.
