Looking to find a job outside of HelpDesk duties."You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done" -
veritas_libertas Member Posts: 5,746 ■■■■■■■■■■I've been reviewing where I want to be in 5-years and what it will take to achieve that. I now work in Information Security, but I'm not sure what I eventually want to specialize in. I'm just not sure. I think this going to be my plan for 2014:
- Pass the GCIH exam
- Learn Python
- Study MS Servers and Group Policy. I bought Minasi's Mastering 08 and I need to read it.
- Become the best I can at my job.
I think all of the above should keep me fairly busy this coming year. -

Personal goal: quit drinking soda lol and eat healthy 6/7 days of the week, and also save a **** ton of $$$ -
daviddws Member Posts: 303 ■■■□□□□□□□Great responses! I'll be working on the Linux+ exams, VCA cloud and Network+. If I have time after that I will probably take the ITIL foundation cert. Originally I was thinking about the MCSE, but I may put that on the back-burner this year.________________________________________

LittleBIT Member Posts: 320 ■■■■□□□□□□I'm going for my MCSA: Win7 MCITP / Enterprise Admin (Hopefully pass it before Jan 2014). After that, I will go for my MCSA: Win Srv 2012.
I feel within 6 months I should be good, it seems like a reasonable expectation to achieve my goals. I also plan on enrolling in WGU in June (After all my certs are done)
Again - it's my plan and future foresight. I usually think 6 - 12 months out and try to reach those goals, so I feel MCSE Srv 2012 may be an option as well.Kindly doing the needful -
pzero Member Posts: 192At this stage im going for MCSA:2012 upgrade whilst I wait for my call up to Stanley CC to do the VMWare course. I think theres about a 6 month waiting time at the moment so it should give me plenty of time to immerse myself in all things Windows Server 2012. After that ill decide where ill go from there, life has a habbit of getting in the way.

On the personal level, nothing really. I don't know, probably try and get my credit score up 10 points to 750.And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. N2IT Inactive Imported Users Posts: 7,483 ■■■■■■■■■■Get my financials under control and stop renting and buy a house. I recently inherited some money which will pay off my MBA and my credit card. I also plan on buying into a local business and to eventually transition out of IT into being a SBO. This of course will be several years down the road, but being a business owner is what I crave and strive for. It's the primary reason I went and received my MBA. Those skills are wasted working in a defined role in IT.
