A+: First days of January
N+: End of January
S+: End of February
CCENT/ICND1: Mid April (taking 45 days + creating/building home lab for studying)
Linux+: Late May (College elective course class that preps students for Linux+ exam)
CCNA/ICND2: Early/Mid June
CCNA Security: Mid-July (before I move to Knoxville to be with my wife)
Cisco Firewall 642-618: October
Cisco Secure (ASA) 642-637: December
Hopefully by the end of this year I will have one solid year of experience in HelpDesk IT, all the certs (or at least till CCNA Security) above, and a good leading/entryway into a jr Network Admin position. I want to work HARD, be HUMBLE and never stop learning!
I look forward to seeing how this unfolds for you. Sounds like a similar plan to me if I could get interested in networking. -
joehalford01 Member Posts: 364 ■■■□□□□□□□I plan to save a ton of money this year, my resolution is no big purchases (house, land, cars, boats, tig welders, etc...). There's always something.
I also plan to finish WGU this year and get a decent yield from my garden this summer. -
Dakinggamer87 Member Posts: 4,016 ■■■■■■■■□□Get my financials under control and stop renting and buy a house. I recently inherited some money which will pay off my MBA and my credit card. I also plan on buying into a local business and to eventually transition out of IT into being a SBO. This of course will be several years down the road, but being a business owner is what I crave and strive for. It's the primary reason I went and received my MBA. Those skills are wasted working in a defined role in IT.
Buying a house is a personal goal of mine as well so tired of renting...*Associate's of Applied Sciences degree in Information Technology-Network Systems Administration
*Bachelor's of Science: Information Technology - Security, Master's of Science: Information Technology - Management

Same here, I would love to own some land. I want to move out of state someday though, I fear being tied down to property in my current location. -
WiseWun Member Posts: 285Certification wise, I plan to face the beast 1-on-1 and attempt the CCIE DC lab before summer. That is if there are any seats available. I would also like to get into the world of consultancy part-time without endangering my current job. Don't know where to start yet but I'm very optimistic."If you’re not prepared to be wrong, you’ll never come up with anything original.” - Ken Robinson

My resolutions are all non IT related. I might do the CISSP, but maybe not. Don't care about certs anymore to be honest. I'm still learning on the job though.2014 - Be happy. Be content. Focus on low stress living.
Sounds cheesey, I know but it's what I'm serious about. Life's too short. -

Holy FishCakes Batman! That is one long list of certs in a year! I salute you if you make it through half of those this year, partially down to having a wife and the amount of material you need to soak in whilst still meeting your husband expectations:D -
Syn/Ack Member Posts: 7 ■□□□□□□□□□My aims this year are:
Complete Msc in Cyber Security
Sit and Pass the CEH

j.petrov Member Posts: 282I made a ton of progress last year towards my goal of working in InfoSec (accomplished). This year I plan on building a stronger Linux foundation and learn a programming language or two.
Linux+ (Q1)
Learn basic Bash/Python or Ruby (Q2/3)
Hopefully 1 other Security Cert - OSCP or a GIAC cert (Q4)
Good luck to everyone, and here is to an even better year! -
Ukimokia Member Posts: 91 ■■□□□□□□□□They say you're less likely to achive your goals if you publicly announce them. So I'll just be vague:
Get more certs than A+
Get the job I'm currently targeting. -
MAC_Addy Member Posts: 1,740 ■■■■□□□□□□I believe my 2014 new years resolutions mirror exactly what I said for 2013. Pass my ICND2 - shouldn't be hard since I work with Cisco equipment all day for work.
Study for CCNP and hopefully pass all by December 2014.
The reason for me slacking is:
My wife and I moved.
My wife and I had a baby which means all spare time is gone.
I had to let my technician go due to the fact he was useless at his job. It's my fault though. We should have given a more technical interview. Lesson learned.2017 Certification Goals:
CCNP R/S
