da_vato, your advice seemed to do the trick. I am done with MSISA in one term.

@njlogix, Congrats on getting it all done. I'm happy to hear you were able to get everything done so quickly! It sounds like your mentor is clueless? (sorry about that)

If you do the MBA, let me know how you like it...I had peeked at it briefly but haven't had a lot of time. I just started Cyberlaw and the Stanly VCP course so lots of learning this month! Probably will still end up accelerating another 2 courses in to this term in addition.

9 courses (26 credits) and a capstone. I did not transfer any courses but paid for the EC council vouchers myself, since the mentor mentioned that they do not want you to take more than one exam per term. I wanted to force myself to take CEH and CHFI, as the topics were intriguing but the ec-council materials were so bad that I never got to take those exams--I enrolled into WGU so that I have to take these to complete the degree :). Once I was done with these two, every thing else was getting the work submitted each weekend.

I was done in under 4 months, and I took a one month break in January, LOL. So really 3 months.

Yes, I also did VCP, CCSK and CIPP/IT in December, so I have no other certs to take for now. My mentor is still learning but she is great as a person (makes it worse). It all started when I wanted to take a term break after the semester, and before I start the capstone. I was told that no body takes a term break (?!), so I should not take it. I decided that I did not want my summer ruined for task stream and expedited everything. The other reason is that since I am now managing people, I wanted to have an MBA too.

If you pursue MBA, try the general MBA rather than IT management. You get a waiver for JIT2. I got my access today and it looks great. I will aim for 2-4 terms for MBA, as I am getting this reimbursed from my employer.

Dang! Took me 2.5 years at big state U. How hard is the CIPP/IT and CCSK exams?

CIPP foundation requires memorization of global privacy law but IT piece is mostly true false. If you know what a cookie is, you'll pass. The costs are about $700 because you have to sign up as a member and pay for two exam fees (foundation, then specialization). I took it when I applied for Google's privacy manager position, got me an interview.

CCSK is web-based and gives you two attempts. It's based on a free PDF, but there is an exam fee.

One six month term to complete the MSISA? Wow. Color me impressed. That is fantastic. Good luck with the MBA.

I am about to start the BSIT Security degree but have been looking ahead at possible MS degrees to enroll in after the BS. Considering that the BSIT Security degree includes CCENT/CCNA/CCNA:S, does having the CCENT waive a class for the MSISA?

To my understanding the CCENT is no longer apart of the MSISA. So I am guessing no by the time you take it.

Haven't been to this forum in a long time.. I forgot my super complex password for NJLogix. I finished the MSISA program in one term, but it was a big struggle. I ended up paying for the voucher myself, as the mentor tried everything possible to put roadblocks towards my progress, including giving me examples of other "Indian" students who are struggling with cryptography course. I am not even Indian, and I finished Cryptography on the same day she let me enroll. I enrolled into the MBA program after that and transferred out, because I felt that WGU imposes serious bias against students with "non-American" sounding names. Numerous roadblocks are placed that are non-existent for white students. I was disgusted and enrolled into a pricey AACSB MBA program instead.
