I'm taking the ICND1 exam on Friday (Jan 3rd). I can do subneting in my head, for the most part, and going over practice tests and official Cisco flash cards. Any last minute advice before the test?

Know what each one does, what they're used for, & how they differentiate between each other (show interfaces status vs show interfaces vs show ip interfaces brief for example). Know all the output for all the commands.
And take a few mins to take the Cisco Exam tutorial featured on their site. It'll get you more comfortable w/ the layout of the actual exam UI.
Good luck!!Goals for 2018:
Certs: RHCSA, LFCS: Ubuntu, CNCF CKA, CNCF CKAD | AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect Pro, AWS Certified Security Specialist, GCP Professional Cloud Architect
Learn: Terraform, Kubernetes, Prometheus & Golang | Improve: Docker, Python Programming

RouteMyPacket Member Posts: 1,104I can't speak to the content on the exam but as someone mentioned before, be sure you are familiar with the commands in their original format
i.e.
Instead of "wr" you will most likely be required to use "copy running-config startup-config"
Instead of "sh run", you will most likely have to type it all out "show running-config"
show ip interface brief
show ip protocols
show interface F0/1 bla bla
Good luck!Modularity and Design Simplicity:
Think of the 2:00 a.m. test—if you were awakened in the
middle of the night because of a network problem and had to figure out the
traffic flows in your network while you were half asleep, could you do it? -
Jon_Cisco Member Posts: 1,772 ■■■■■■■■□□I don't have any great advice. I think labbing is probably better then last minute memorization.
Good Luck! -

I second that. It gets me too nervous doing that. Trying to cram something in my head that I couldn't get in there in the first place... not good. -
rembot00 Member Posts: 22 ■□□□□□□□□□hey im taking the ICND1 on Jan03,too! I hoped to take it sometime in Dec 2013..But got busy with stuff, and haven't finish reading Odom's book (now i finished it and watched CBTNuggets vids, and practiced labs in Packet Tracer) so pushed on my original plan of January. Now no turning back and nervous as hell lol. Goodluck to the both of us!

"Finally, for those of you paying close attention to the exam topics, note that the subtopics
about inter-VLAN routing and ROAS mention “upstream routing.” This topic refers to a basic
concept: The router that uses ROAS might only need to route between those subnets off the
VLAN trunk, but more than likely, the router will also need to route packets to other subnets
in other parts of the enterprise network. This “upstream routing” topic simply reminds us to not
forget about the need to configure other router interfaces, static routes, a routing protocol, and
so on, so that the router can forward packets to other “upstream” destinations."
