    2 at work (not enough)
3 + HDTV at home; I'd like 5 in total, but I only have 4 outputs.

2 x 23" at work, 2 x 22" at home. I think I will eventually need to upgrade to 3 x 23" at work as I am the jack of all trades here. :P

I have 3 monitors for work on two desktops. 4 or 5 would be optimal since I constantly have to keep a remote connection and/or a virtual open on one and remote clients' computer on the other.

3 monitors at home in portrait Eyefinity. A thing of beauty.

I use three monitors at work(noc) and 1 at home. I feel like one 24in led is all I need for productivity(school, & side projects) at home.

When I worked in the NOC, we had 4 monitors in 3 sections, so 12 total. At work and at home, I always use 2 monitors, even if work only provides 1, I will bring in another monitor from home.

One at work & one at home. I feel more focused that way although I've never tried attempting to work with more than one monitor

Once you go more than one you'll never go back. It's extremely limiting to be on a single monitor for me now.

I wish I could do this, but corporate policy restricts me from doing so.

Same, One is all you need! Saves electricity, reduces strain on your eyes switching back and forth from different monitors even if they are the same resolution your eyes must refocus on a slightly different colour and intensity! All those saying 2, 4+, get your opticians booked your gonna need it :)

2 old 19's at work. Usually an RDP session or security cameras on one and web on the other. The occasional long spreadsheet.

This exactly. I can't go back, never. One at home is fine, but I'm positive my productivity at work would drop tremendously if I went back to 1.

I would like to say this is my set-up still. (Using Synergy of course) but unfortunately, one of the iMacs had to move on. It is now just down to 3. One that extends the iMac screen to the left, and the other to the right is direct into the PC below my desk which uses Synergy.

I have two. Once I get past two I become overwhelmed unless it's used for one purpose only :)

Before yesterday, I had a 19-24-19 triple monitor setup. Now after I setup my Varidesk, I run dual 24s. I recommend one if you can squeeze it in.

I wish I had 3, but only have 2 (for both home and work). I don't see how anyone could use a single monitor for most tech jobs.

    Laptop + screen @ work.

After a couple of weeks, now at home I feel I need another screen... Thinking on invest on a Macbook Pro or buy another 24'' screen.
